An Overview Of Whole Medical Systems
The term whole medical system refers to a completely different way of medication which has its own base of theories and medical practices which have grown completely independent of the more conventional way of medication also known as allopathic medical system. These systems are mostly medical practices with a more traditional approach that have been practiced with effectiveness through ages. These systems are based on traditional beliefs, which may seem a little strange but these medical practitioners have cured people with success for ages. The whole medical system originating from the east would include traditional Chinese medicine and the medical system of Ayurveda originating in India. The west also has its share of whole medical systems which would majorly include naturopathy and homeopathy. There are also other systems of whole medical systems which have been developed by people originating from South American cultures, central and Tibetan culture as well as Middle Eastern, African as well as Native American culture.
Traditional Chinese medication is a very old practice; in fact, it dates back to the 200 B.C. It deals with the main two forces that keep our bodies in balance, Ying and Yang. This are opposing forces and their belief is that any imbalance in the force causes illness in the body. The traditional Chinese medicine combines medical herbs along with massages, acupuncture, and breathing exercises called chi-gong. Meditation is also a part of this process. Acupuncture is an extremely popular therapeutic technique and its effectiveness is widely known and respected. They believe that the body has various pressure points on the surface and putting pressure on those points by means of therapeutic needles can directly influence the flow of energy and assist the body in healing its self.
Ayurveda is an ancient of healing practiced in India for more than 4000 years back. The name literally means the science of life, this medical practice has its roots in deep theories, and it is widely practiced all around the world as effective alternative forms of medical treatment. Ayurveda really focuses on strengthening the natural systems of healing present within the body and use it to heal the body quickly. Ayurvedic treatment relies on massage, herbs, meditation, exercise, diet, controlled breathing, and exposure to sunlight to its advantage when healing a person. Each sick person is assessed through a series of tests and observation and then a custom-made medicine is given along with a chart of things to that you are allowed to eat and how you have to take the medication.

Homeopathy is a well-developed western whole medical system which was developed by Samuel Christian Hahnemann in early eighteen hundred A.D. In this form of medication, the symptoms of the sick patients are compared to that of effects produced by drugs on normal person. The patient is examined to find out all aspects of his health so that the doctor may understand what the patient requires in order to make that person well again. A widely practiced medical treatment, it is practiced all over the world in parallel to the conventional system.
